Damage & Protection Policy

We want you to enjoy your rental without worry. Boots are made to be worn - here's exactly what's expected, what's not, and how we protect both of us.

🤠
Our Philosophy

Boots Are Meant to Be Worn

Minor scuffs and everyday wear are completely expected - and honestly, a little character adds to the aesthetic. We rent boots so you can experience Austin authentically, which means wearing them to concerts, honky-tonks, late nights on Broadway, and everywhere in between.

We will never charge you for normal wear. Our policy is designed to protect against genuine damage - not the everyday signs of a great time in Austin.

Renter Responsibility

What You're Responsible For

Beyond normal wear, renters are responsible for the following. These are rare situations - but we want to be upfront so there are no surprises.

🔧

Excessive Damage

Damage beyond normal wear - tears, permanent stains, broken hardware - may result in repair charges at our discretion.

🔍

Lost Items

Items that are lost, not returned, or returned in an unrecoverable state will be charged at replacement cost.

🚨

Theft

Renters are responsible for items in their possession. Theft or non-return of items is subject to replacement cost and may be reported.

If Damage Occurs - Here's What Happens

  • 1 Your Boot Butler inspects all returned items before processing. Minor wear is noted and no action is taken.
  • 2 If excessive damage is identified, we'll reach out to you within 48 hours of pickup with photos and a description of the issue.
  • 3 Repair or replacement costs are assessed based on the actual cost to restore or replace the item. We'll share an itemized summary.
  • 4 We work with you directly and fairly. If there's any disagreement about whether damage is excessive, we'll share photos and discuss before any charge is applied.
  • 5 Any outstanding charges are applied to the payment method on file. Questions? We're always reachable by text or email.
